well, ive just created a new monk and she's in shing jea. i really want to do the prophecies campaign, so is it possible to get a run from shing jea monestery to the marketplace and then to kaineng without doing the first missions( minister cho and zen daijun)?

no, have to finish everything on the island first

You will need to finish Shing Jea Island to get to the marketplace so I think the answer to your question is No. You would not want to do this anyways. You will need to finish the 2 15 attribute point quests on Shing She Island to make your char complete. You can't do the Prophecies 15 Attribute point quests if you made your character in Factions. Also the quests available in Lions Arch are to hard for a level 1 character and you can't do most of the Lower level quests in Tyria if you were to get a run to Ascalon if you were born in Cantha.

Well, in factions about every area is locked until you get to the point where you have to go there so it's not runable.
